Xiaomi Mi 7 Finally Joins the Wireless Power Consortium

Mi 7, the upcoming flagship Smartphone from Xiaomi is gearing up for wireless charging. The company expects to launch it in the early months of the year 2018, most likely in April. A while back, Xiaomi became a member of the wireless charging family. Thanks to the leaked images, the latest phone is seemingly confirmed to get the support of this convenient feature that will soon be rolled out.

Although the manufacturers have not yet confirmed the specific module entirely needed for the phone, the leaked images show that Mi 7 will use a wireless charging module from the U.S tech firm, Integrated Device Technology.

The Chinese manufacturers say they will produce a Smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The handset is to take on Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, and LG V30.

The company also says it will chuck out the fingerprint sensor scanner from the Mi 7 phone and replace it with a Facial Identification like authentication system.

Overall, the only information confirmed so far is that Mi 7 features wireless charging. And since wireless charging does not work through metal, Mi 7 comes with a ceramic back like its predecessor, Xiaomi Mi 6.

Other reports suggest that Xiaomi Mi 7 design is:

  • Based on Mi MIX 2
  • Will feature a 6 GB RAM pack
  • 16 Megapixel main camera shooter with an auto focus
  • Front facing camera capable of shooting up to 16 Megapixel selfies
  • 01-inch bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio
  • Dual (Nano) SIM
  • High dynamic-range imaging (HDR)
  • Panorama mode among other features.

The Chinese based manufacturing company earlier introduced Android 8.0 for Xiaomi Mi Ai. The company has also announced a new service at Mi Service Center. The main work for the service is to monitor Xiaomi’s mobile phone status.

However, since Xiaomi is known for manufacturing and producing of cheap but classic accessories, no doubt that the new handset is going to sell at very lower price compared to its competitors.
