Warm news for the victims of hurricane Harvey! Michael Dell announces $36 million donation to the relief fund!

Hurricane Harvey has recently been named as the most destructive hurricane in the US ever. It has resulted in a lot of loss of life and property. Many people are still stuck in the flooded areas. People have been rendered homeless. The wealthy stock of the States is now gradually lending a hand of help. Billionaire Michael Dell has promised $36 million to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund on Friday.

Rebuilding Texas

Michael Dell is the chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies. He made the announcement along with his wife Susan.  Michael and Susan Dell Foundation is starting off the Rebuilding Texas Fund campaign. They are donating $18 million straight away through the foundation. They are then expecting even a larger amount along with the public during the Labor Day weekend. The foundation will match every two dollars donated through a text-to-donate campaign with an extra dollar. This would go on for the next four days.

What did Dell say?

Dell said in his statement that Texas is their home. He added that they all had to work together to rebuild its communities. Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the Rebuild Texas Fund project. Its goal is to raise $100 million to speed up the recovery and rehabilitation of Harvey affected communities in a long term.

Helping Billionaires

Michael Dell is the latest addition to the group of billionaires who have donated for the Harvey victims. US President Donald Trump pledged $1 million prior to Dell. Kardashian family also announced $500 K towards the relief activities of Hurricane Harvey earlier.
