Acer never ceases to amuse its customers during big tech shows with new gadgets. This year’s IFA 2017 was no different. From new laptops to an extremely thin all-in-one PC to a 4k 360° camera. However, out of the discoveries Acer brought with them to German, one beast stood atop of the mountain, the Acer Predator Orion 9000 gaming PC.
If we got down to naming all the features the super computer comes with, you’d think we are describing a pro server other than a gaming computer.
The machine comes in a heavy industrial standard metal casing with a window on one side. It is has a meshed metal on the front, top and at the back. The mesh is to aid in cooling. The cooling system is comprised of air and liquid, with the computer parts made with different cooling compartments to allow for an efficient cooling process.
The super PC comes with an 18 core Intel core i9 7980XE processor, a memory of 128GB, DDR4 RAM, and it can be installed with up to 4 graphics cards. Also, the PC has up to 44 terabytes of internal storage space. You can use either Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080ti or AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics cards, depending on the resolution you desire. The two cards will work correctly with any game you wish to play.
According to Acer, this beast will start selling at 2000 – 3000 dollars, a price expected to go up depending on how powerful the machine you would like to purchase. The Acer Predator Orion 9000 Gaming PC is said to be available in EMEA countries’ markets starting November this year, followed by America in December.
To add Orion 9000, Acer also unveiled the Predator X35, a 35 inch HDR curved screen monitor which will be available in the markets early next year. The predator X35 has a screen resolution of 3,440×1,440 pixels.
The Orion 9000 PC is super heavy, Acer had to include wheels to ease its movement.
