Could this be a coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. We all know of the beef between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. The two have been at loggerheads for years. Their beef date back to 2009 when Kanye interrupted Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs.
Apparently, after Taylor Swift’s big music come back, she has announced that she will be launching her new album, reputation, on September 10th. On this same day, Kanye West will be celebrating his mother’s 10 – year death anniversary. Kanye West has not commented on the issue so far.
After Kanye interruption in 2009, he went ahead and apologized in 2010. The two later reconciled in public during the 2015 MTV VMAs when Taylor Swift presented Kanye West with the Video Vanguard Award.
However, the peace did not live to see the light of the day, Kanye brought the beef back to life when he mentioned Taylor in his song, famous. In the music, Kanye says “I feel like me, and Taylor might still have sex/why? I made that bitch famous.”
Kanye West claims to have had talked to Taylor about the lyrics. He says that Taylor thought that the words were rather funny than offensive and that she approved them. However, Taylor’s representative claimed that she was not made aware of the actual words. During the 2016 Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift utilized her speech after winning the album of the year award to get back to Kanye. On her speech, the singer not only talked about girl power but also called Kanye West by his name.
In June 2016, Kim Kardashian defended her husband about the famous claims. Speaking to GQ, Kim said that Taylor had approved the lyrics and that she was aware that the hit song was coming out. One month later, Kardashian a video of her husband and Taylor conversing over a phone call.
Responding to the post, Taylor asked: “Where in the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?” She added, “Being falsely printed as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination, I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”
