Prison Break’s Robert Knepper Accused of a 1992 Sexual Assault

As it seems, 2017 is the year of Hollywood’s dark secrets coming out to the light. First, it was Harvey Weinstein, Steven Seagal, and many other Hollywood big names. Robert Knepper is the newest actor in the list as he stands accused of assaulting a costume designer in 1992.

Ms. Bertram accused the Prison Break star of assaulting her during the filming of Gas Food Lodging in 1992. The costume designer had just joined Hollywood, working with Dominique DuBois as her assistant.

Ms. Bertram remembers that after a day of filming the Gas Food Lodging, she went to drop some clothes to Robert Knepper at his trailer. As Bertram narrated, she was approaching a rack to place the clothes when the actor “jumped up,” and grabbed her crotch very hard.

Robert Knepper then shoved the designer against the wall and said to her “am going to f*ck your brains out.” Bertram somehow managed to set herself free from the ‘predator’ and ran for her dear ‘life.’

Ms. Bertram says that she “flew out of that trailer as fast as I could. I just kind of fell out the door, and landed in the dirt on my knees.”

Dominique DuBois supported Ms. Bertram’s allegations against Knepper, saying that she (Bertram) returned to the room visibly shaking. DuBois recalls Ms. Bertram telling her that Knepper had forced himself on her.

Robert Knepper, however, denied the allegations and said that he is not that kind of a person. He wrote on Instagram that, “Over the past few weeks, my wife and I have discussed the pain women have experienced and the bravery they have shown in coming forward, I am shocked and devastated to be falsely accused of violence against a woman. That’s just not who I am. To those who have reached out today with words of support and encouragement, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Knepper has acted on Prison Break and other films including Homeland and Twin Peaks
