After a whimsical Sunday afternoon of the 27th (August), Maroon 5 took to twitter later in the night, announcing the release of yet another of their anticipated singles, this Wednesday. The song titled ‘What Lovers do’ will be hitting the radios this week, and features a rather rare appearance in this kind of music, from SZA.

The music group gave its eager fans a tip of what to expect in the song, hinting some of the things that lovers do.  Of course, the tweets were a direct allusion of some exact phrases in the song, and they were directly intended for heightening the fans’ anticipation.

Maroon 5 has done some really beautiful songs this year and it’s likely that this song opens up the subsequent releases that the band expects to do for the remaining part of 2017.  As quoted, the band mentioned some of the things that lovers do, inclusive of “eating candy”, and as quoted in the tweet “Sharing is what lovers do”.

In the tweets, the band also mentioned something to do with “moments and memories is what lovers do”. This somewhat implies that the song will only be for the pop love music fans. For the rest of us who love a hip hop touch in their music, I guess we will have to wait for the next release.

Adam Lavigne’s last song ‘Cold’ was, by all means, a perfect debut, while the Pokémon-inspired “Don’t wanna know” offered fans some bit of a comic relief. Oh! And the appearance of Vince Vaughn at the end of the song, that totally nailed it! It’s not clear who else will be featured in this song’s video although that will come later: right after the audio is out on Wednesday.

In the meantime, we’ll just remain expectant of the release on Wednesday and simply Do ‘What Lovers do’.
