Everton’s losing streak continued today as they lost 4-0 to Manchester United. This was the third time the red devils scored four goals and conceded none. It was a terrible evening for Wayne Rooney as it was his first time returning to Old Trafford, one day before he appears before the Portland magistrate court over the drink and driving charges.

Despite their early goal scored in the fourth minute, Manchester United’s performance throughout the match was poor, and Everton would have utilized that window to equalize, they, however, wasted all the scoring chances they got. The former red devil, Wayne Rooney missed two chances, causing Ronald Koeman’s side go home empty handed yet again.

Before the match, all eyes were focused on Rooney and Lukaku, but Antonio Valencia stole the spotlight with his fourth-minute twenty-yard goal.

During the first 45 minutes, Everton showed some level of expertise as Rooney had a spectacular chance to wipe his team’s tears with a goal, but he spoiled it. The United remained the bigger man though, with Lukaku wasting away two chances as well.

Everton recorded seven shots on target, with each shot bearing a possible chance to turn into a goal; however, they all went to waste. The mistakes could not go unpunished, as Manchester took the closing ten minutes to punish their former brother, settling to total goals of 4.

Lukaku gave a selfless pass to Mkhitaryan in the 83rd minute, who embraced the chance and got himself on the score sheet. The former Everton player then made the scores 3-0 by scoring at close range. Then the French soccer player Antony Martial shook the nets with the fourth goal from a penalty kick extending Ronald Koeman’s fruitless matches to six.

The loss drops Everton to position 18 in the premier league table. Everton has not scored a single goal this season.
