Google Pixel was one of the most iconic smartphones of 2016. Last year Google partnered up with HTC to make the pixel but this year they are partnering up with LG. First of all, Google officials did not say anything about the Pixel 2. Yet the rumours are all over the place. But we have a pretty good lead on how the phone is going to look and what the hardware will be. So let’s dive into the world of pixels.
Romour suggests that the Pixel 2 will have a 6″ AMOLED display with most probably a 2:1 aspect ratio. The overall design will have very minimal bezels, not as good as the Samsung Galaxy S8 but pretty close to that. Seems like the pixel 2 will have curved screen corners just like the LG G6. Many people like this feature but I don’t think it’s a very big deal.
Just like any other flagship smartphone of 2017, the Pixel 2 will have a Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45 GHz. It will most probably come with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. If the rumours are right then we can expect the best in line processor in pixel 2.
The camera on 2016 pixel is by far the best camera on a smartphone and the leaks say LG is further improving the camera quality. On the leaked images the camera looks bigger than the 2016 pixel. It’s slightly bumped up from the surface. We yet don’t have the exact specification of the camera but surely it is not going to be a dual camera set up.
The speaker was the biggest drawback of 2016 Pixel. This year Google is trying to flip that around by introducing dual front firing speaker on the Pixel 2. I am a huge fan of dual front firing speakers. It can enhance the overall media experience of this smartphone.
Some speculations say that the new pixel will have the squeeze feature which we have seen in the HTC U11. To know more about this squeeze feature check out our article on HTC U11.
We can expect the launch will be in October or around that time this year. Therefore we don’t have much information about this phone. We will inform you with a much more detailed article when we get new and much reliable information. Until then Check out this video, it will give you a better idea of how the new Google Pixel 2 is going to look.
