Britain To Ban Petrol and Diesel Cars by 2040


Started from Steam, Cars have used many source of energy since then. Petrol, Diesel, Compressed Natural Gas, Electricity, Biodiesel, Ethanol to name few. The old carts used to consume human energy to pedal them. As technology developed, Carts were converted into cars

The first tri wheeled car steam engine was made by Nicholas-Joseph Cugnot according to Wikipedia. Time passed technology developed, Combustion engine came to existence and even now the combustion engine are used.

The first electric car was prepared by Gustave Trove in 1881. Wikipedia states further that what french inventor made, was a tri-wheeled car, He demonstrated his invention at International Exposition of Electricity, Paris

Petrol and Diesel Cars Ban in UK

After France announced to ban Petrol and Diesel cars earlier this month, The British Government announced to ban Petrol and Diesel cars by 2040.

A Government Spokesman said via The Guardian “Poor air quality is the biggest environmental risk to public health in the UK and this government is determined to take strong action in the time possible. That is why we are providing councils with new funding to accelerate development of local plans, as part of an ambitious £3bn program to clean up dirty air around our roads.”

The petrol/diesel engine operate by combustion and as a result gases are emitted. The residual gases due to combustion have been a concern for environment. British governments have already been providing tax benefits to encourage people to buy low C02 emission cars. Now in addition, The petrol and diesel cars are going to get banned
