Angelina Jolie admits that being single is not easy, a year since she announced her separation with her husband, Brad Pit. In her recent interviews about her upcoming Netflix movie, “First They Killed my Father” the Oscar award winning actress says she has been a little bit shy since she is not strong from inside as she is supposed to be.
The two have not yet officiated their divorce, but they have decided to handle the matters privately. The movie stars met in the mid-2000s and dated for almost a decade; they later got married in 2014.
Talking to Sunday Telegraph, Angelina Jolie admits that the past year has been a difficult one for her, “I don’t enjoy being single,” the 42-year-old actress says. She further adds that “It’s not something I wanted. There’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard. Sometimes maybe it appears I am pulling it all together, but really I am just trying to get through my days.”
In her interview with Telegraph, she says the separation has been quite difficult emotionally and that it has caused her some health problems. She recently got diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. The Maleficent star has been quite open about her health issues, as she also opened up about her move to take precautionary measures to prevent cancer infections in 2013. She, however, says that back then her husband was right by her side.
Citing her single parenthood, Jolie says that she is grateful she has not gotten cancer, and must she get it, it shall be delayed for some years. “The exchange for that peace of mind is quite good,” she says.
The couple has three biological and three adoptive children together.
