A terrifying discovery
The case is of a Chicago woman from West Side. Her dead body was found in the Rosemont hotel. The body was discovered in the walk-in freezer of the hotel on a Sunday morning.
The Dead Woman
The woman was identified as Kenneka Jenkins. She was 19 years old. She hailed from Chicago. Jenkins went missing from a party almost a day before she was found dead in the freezer. She was discovered post an hours long search. Jenkins was declared dead at 12:48 a.m according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Teresa Martin is the mother of Kenneka Jenkins. She said that the police had told her that Kenneka seemingly let herself into the freezer and died there. She was intoxicated during the party she attended with friends. Martins talked to the reporters outside Rosemont hotel on Sunday morning. She added that she was horrified. She said that the incident was something that no one could have ever imagined. She termed it as unbelievable. Martin had a hard time believing the police reports. She said that it would have been really impossible for a drunk teenage girl to open double steeled doors of a walk-in refrigerator.
The Autopsy Reports
The autopsy of the dead body of Kenneka Jenkins took place on Sunday itself. Becky Schlikerman is the spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office. She told that the autopsy didn’t clearly indicate at that moment whether foul play was suspected. Thus, the cause and manner of the death of the teen are yet to be confirmed.
